Baseball disciplinarians have been handing out suspensions left, right and center today over a game that took place between the Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox. But other teams have had bigger fish to fry. See, August usually brings to mind baseball’s stretch drive and as it stands there are a few teams out there that are hurting, quite frankly. With that in mind you may want to change the way you bet:
The Los Angeles Angels: a healthy team for the most part. Maicer Izturis is day-to-day with a thumb injury and Mike Napoli’s shoulder is still questionable, but that’s about it.
For the Milwaukee Brewers, Yovani Gallardo is still out following major knee surgery but don’t bet on him to make a return anytime soon.
The St. Louis Cardinals are on the mend with Chris Carpenter back and Adam Wainwright soon to follow. The Chicago Cubs have had pitching problems, but closer Kerry Wood is slated to make a return over the weekend. The Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Florida Marlins have also been plagued by injuries…and don’t even get me started on the New York Mets.
